Privacy Policy

Swellz is designed to collect as little as possible. In short: we don't collect, store, or share your personal data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device.

Information we do NOT collect

Swellz has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or usage data.

Location

If you grant location access, your location is used only on your device to center the map on nearby breaks and find spots near you. It is never sent to us or any third party, and it isn't stored.

Data stored on your device

• Your saved spots, board quiver, session logs, photos you attach, and settings are stored locally on your device (and synced to your own Apple Watch when paired).
• Any optional API key you enter (e.g., Windy) is stored only on your device and used solely to request forecasts on your behalf.

Third-party forecast services

To show forecasts, the app requests data directly from public providers using the spot's coordinates:

• Open-Meteo — swell, wind and weather.
• NOAA CO-OPS — tide predictions.
• Windy — optional wind data, only if you add your own API key.

These requests contain coordinates and standard network information (such as your IP address) as required to deliver a response. Please review each provider's own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

Swellz is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
